€90,000 Drugs Seized & Man Arrested in Westport Co Mayo on 29/03/17

On 29th March 2017, Gardaí in Westport arrested a man in his 40s and seized an estimated €90,000 worth of Cannabis.

As part of an on going operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Westport District, Local Gardai, accompanied by Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit, searched a house in the Sheeaune area of Westport, Co Mayo.
 
During the course of the search, Gardaí recovered 111 cannabis plants (pending analysis). A man in his 40s was arrested and  detained in Westport Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice. He has sinced been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
