Gardaí investigating a robbery that occurred in Malahide Village on Saturday 21st January 2017 are appealing for witnesses. At approximately 5pm on Saturday evening 21st January 2017 two men entered a jewellers shop at The Diamond, Malahide Village. They threatened staff and stole a number of items, including watches during the robbery. One female staff member suffered non life threatening injuries in an altercation with the men. Both suspects ran in the direction of St Margaret's Avenue, Malahide.
A short time after the robbery a black coloured hatchback car, not better described, was observed driving in a dangerous manner in the Yellow Walls Road area, Malahide. The suspects, both male, are described as being 1, 5'9" around 50 years of age, wearing glasses and a yellow jacket. The second man was wearing a black jacket, white hat and was much younger than the first.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have been cycling or walking in the Yellow Walls Road area who may have observed the black hatchback car being driven dangerously or at any time prior to or after the robbery. Following a review of CCTV footage Gardai are appealing for a cyclist who may have seen the car or suspects involved, the cyclist was wearing white runners, blue jeans and an anorak type jacket, to contact them at Malahide Garda Station on 01 6664600, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
