Gardai in Lismore are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N72 at Ballygalane, Lower Lismore at approximately 18.30 yesterday.
A car collided with a wall after it went on fire. A body was removed from the car and was taken to Waterford University Hospital. No further details of the deceased, age or gender, are available as the body has not been positively identified. There was a sole occupant of the car.
This stretch of road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
