Gardaí in Dundalk, Co Louth are investigating a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the Dundalk to Castleblaney Rd(N53) on the 5th September 2016.
The collision occurred at Rassan on the Dundalk to Castleblaney Rd (5 miles outside Dundalk) at approximately 7am this morning. The driver(early 60's) and sole occupant of the car was fatally injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. His body is still at the scene.
The road has been closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.
