Gardaí from the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau have charged a male (58 years) in connection with the seizure of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €2.7 million
(analysis pending) in Co Meath on the 25th October 2016, he will appear before Trim District Court at 10.30am tomorrow the 27th October 2016.
A second male(41 years) arrested as part of the same operation was charged with unconnected offences and will also appear before Trim District Court at 10.30am on the 27th October 2016.
The third male was released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí from the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force have seized cannabis herb with an estimated value of €2.7 million (analysis pending) and arrested three males during an operation in Co. Meath.
The discovery was made when detectives searched a number of vehicles in Ashbourne shortly after 3pm. Three males aged 58, 41 & 35 were arrested as part of the investigation. They are currently detained at Ashbourne and Finglas Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. (They can be detained for up to 7 days.)
Todays operation is part of ongoing investigations targeting organised criminal activity in the Dublin and Meath regions.
