Gardaí at Mullingar Co Westmeath are investigating a three vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Hiskinstown, Delvin, Co Westmeath at approximately 3.30pm this afternoon (Saturday 8th October 2016). Two cars and a truck were involved in the collision.
A female driver of one of the cars involved in her 20’s was pronounced dead at the scene, her female passenger also in her 20’s has been taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar where her injuries are described as serious. The female driver of the second car (only occupant) has been airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in a serious condition. The male truck driver was uninjured.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation and diversions are in place.
