Gardai in Boyle are investigating a 2 vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N5 between Strokestown and Scramoge Cross at approximately 8pm this evening.
A male motorcyclist in his 50’s was fatally injured when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a tractor. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Roscommon Hospital. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
