Gardaí at Castlebar are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Brize, Claremorris, Co. Mayo at 9p.m. last night Thursday 13th October, 2016.
A car and a tractor collided and the female (late 60s) driver of the car was seriously injured and taken to Mayo University Hospital where she passed away this morning, Friday 14th October, 2016. The male (50s) driver of the tractor was uninjured.
The road between Claremorris and Balla is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
