Two men charged - Burglaries in Louth on the 7/11/16

Gardaí have charged two men, 19 and 22 years, in connection with investigations into burglaries in the County Louth area.

They are both due to appear before Dundalk District Court tomorrow morning, Wednesday 9th November 2016 at 10.30am.
 
The two men were arrested by Gardaí in the Greenore area, County Louth last night, Monday 7th November 2016 at approximately 11pm. They were detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. They remain in Garda custody.

As part of Operation Thor, uniformed Gardaí on patrol in the Carlingford area of Co Louth were alerted to a burglary in Willville, Carlingford last night (7/11/16).

On arrival at the scene Gardaí recovered a car which had been stolen earlier that day. Another burglary was reported nearby and a Toyota car was stolen from that location. Gardaí from the Regional Response Unit assisted in this investigation and attempted to stop the Toyota car at Millgrange, Carlingford, the Toyota car then rammed two Garda vehicles.

Two men in their 20’s were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Dundalk Garda Station under the Provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Investigations are continuing.
