Gardaí investigating the murder of Gareth Hutch on the 24th May 2016 at Avondale House are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the movements of a silver Skoda car registration 05 D 15049 either before or after the shooting incident.
This car was observed on Sean McDermott Street after 10am on Tuesday the 24th May 2016 following the murder of Gareth Hutch. It was seen on Rutland Street Lower and was later found in the Dubber Cross area of Finglas in a burnt out condition.

Gardaí in Mountjoy investigating the murder of Gareth Hutch today the 24th May 2016, have this evening arrested a 29 year old male in connection with the shooting.
He is being detained under the provisions of section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 as amended at Mountjoy Garda Station.

At approximately 10.00am this morning Gardaí became aware of a shooting incident at the Avondale House Apartment complex, this is a Dublin City Council complex located on North Cumberland Street, Dublin 1 off Parnell Street.
Two men approached the deceased and shot him as he was about to get into his car ( a black VW Passat). He was subsequently taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Gareth Hutch, a man in his mid thirties who was living in the area. Gardaí have launched a full murder investigation.
Gardaí are interested in the movements of a black 5 series BMW, 02 D 39051 on the days leading up to incident, this car has been recovered by Gardaí and it remained in our custody.
Following this shooting two male persons got into and then exited this vehicle at the location of the shooting and travelled on foot from Avondale House and turned left towards Upper Sean McDermott St, Dublin 1. The Officer in charge of the investigation Superintendent Daniel Flavin appealed during today’s press conference at Store Street Garda Station for anyone who may have been on mobile phones to come forward with any mobile footage they may have taken close to the scene around the time of the shooting. Superintendent Flavin also said "the community have already assisted us tremendously in the area and I am again appealing for them to come forward and assist us with this investigation”
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information or witnesses who may have seen these two males running from the scene. One was wearing what appeared to be a red jacket or top while the other was wearing a grey top with the hood pulled over his head. We believe that these men left the scene in a car (no description confirmed) and we are appealing for witnesses who may have seen them enter a car in the general area of North Cumberland Street / Sean McDermot Street to contact Store Street Garda station on 01 6668000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí at Mountjoy in Dublin are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Avondale House Flats in North Cumberland Street, Dublin 1 at approximately 10am this morning (24/5/16).
A man has been seriously injured following the shooting. He has been removed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.
The scene is sealed off and a technical examination of the area is expected to take place.
