Gardaí in Tralee are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Co. Kerry.
At approximately 8.35am a male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on the (R551) Tralee to Ardfert road at Ballyroe. The scene was attended by Gardaí and Emergency Services. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Tralee General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out. The driver of the car, a 20 year-old male, was not physically injured.
An examination of the scene was conducted by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has since reopened to traffic. The local coroner has been notified.
