Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Southbound carriageway of the N11 close to Cabinteely Village this afternoon, Wednesday 4th May 2016 shortly before 1pm.
A woman pedestrian, aged in her early 80's, was fatally injured after being struck by a car. She was pronounced dead at scene. Her body has been taken to Saint Columcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown. A post mortem is to be arranged.
The N11 Southbound carriageway is currently closed at Cornelscourt to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
