Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R551 at Ballyheigue, County Kerry this evening, Sunday 15th May 2016 at approximately 6.45pm.
One man, aged in his mid 30's, suffered fatal injuries when his motorcycle struck the footpath and a roadside pillar. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry, Tralee where a post mortem is to be arranged. The man was the sole occupant of the motorcycle.
The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
