This morning, Friday 11th March 2016 a search operation commenced at premises relating to the activities of an organised crime group. The searches are ongoing at ten private residences in the Kevin Street and Pearse Street areas in Dublin involving 80 Gardaí.
The searches are being conducted as part of an on-going investigation into an organised crime group which is involved in the distribution, sale and supply of controlled drugs in Dublin city centre and adjoining suburbs. The searches commenced at 7am this morning and are still ongoing. The Detective Units at Kevin Street and Kilmainham have been assisted in the operation by personnel from the following Garda Units:
1. Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau
2. Special Detective Unit
3 Criminal Assets Bureau
4. Detectives from Pearse Street and Donnybrook
5. National Support Services- Dog Unit
6. Divisional Scenes of Crimes Unit
7. South Central Divisional Task Force
At this time the operation is on-going and it is anticipated that it will take some time for all searches to be completed.
