As part of an ongoing operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Kilkenny/Carlow area Gardaí have seized cannabis herb with an estimated value of €100,000, pending analysis.
The drugs were seized by Gardaí from the Kilkenny/Carlow Divisional Drugs Unit following the planned search of a premises in Carlow Town yesterday afternoon, Thursday 2nd June 2016 shortly after 2.30pm. They were assisted by members of the Garda Dog Unit, Cork.
One man, aged in his early 40’s, was arrested at scene and is currently detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
