Gardai in Dunmanway, Co. Cork are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at Cousane, on the Kealkil to Coppeen Rd (R585) also known as the Bantry Line, today the 9th June 2016.
The collision occurred at approximately 11.10am when a male(68 years) motorcyclist collided with a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital. No one else was injured in the collision.
The road is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
