Gardaí in Gorey, Co Wexford are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballycanew Co Wexford on the 23rd June 2016.
The collision between a car and a truck occurred at approximately 5.25am on the Ballycanew to Wexford road (Coast Road R741) one mile outside Ballycanew. The driver (21 years) of the car was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His remains have been removed to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital. The driver (29 years) of the truck was uninjured in the collision. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and local diversions in place.
