Gardaí have seized a large quantity of cannabis plants and arrested a man following a search at a house at Heronford Lane, Shankill, Co. Dublin, on Tuesday 14th June 2016.
As part of an on-going operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis in the south dunlin area, Gardaí carried out the search of the house yesterday evening and discovered 400 cannabis plants growing on the ground floor and a further 700 in the basement. The seizure may have a street value, subject to analysis, of in excess of €500,000.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking)Act, 1996 at Shankill Garda Station.
The house is sealed off for a forensic technical examination which will take place today.
