Superintendent Patrick McMenamin will hold a media briefing and witness appeal at Kevin Street Garda Station this evening, Friday 1st July 2016 at 6.30pm regarding the shooting incident that occurred at Bridgefoot Street, Dublin 8 this afternoon.

Gardaí at Kevin St are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at 1610hr approx. on Bridgefoot St Dublin 8 today 1st July 2016.
A male pedestrian was approached by a lone male gunman and shot a number of times. The injured man was been taken to St James Hospital. His condition is believed to be serious. The area has been sealed off for technical examination.
A car was discovered burnt out a short distance away.
