Witness appeal - Robbery in Ratoath, Meath on the 15/1/16

Gardaí at Ashbourne are investigating a robbery which occurred at a supermarket on Fairyhouse Road, Ratoath, County Meath yesterday evening, Friday 15th January 2016 at approximately 7.20pm.

A lone man, late 20's-early 30's, entered the shop. He was in possession of a firearm. He threatened and assaulted staff before leaving the premises with an amount of cash.
 

This man fled the scene on foot and went in the direction of Riverwalk, a pedestrian area opposite the shop.
 

One male member of staff suffered minor injuries during an altercation with the raider. The customers present in the shop were unharmed.
 

The raider is described as being male, late 20's/early30's, approximately 5'11" in height and of strong build. He wore a beetroot coloured hooded jumper which had white draw strings and a red t-shirt underneath. He was also wearing blue jeans, white socks and white runners which had white soles and a black trim around the ankles. This man had a black mask covering his face and was carrying a green plastic bag.
