Gardaí in Thomastown are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N25 in Kilkenny on the evening of the 30th January 2016.
At approximately 7.45pm there was a two car collision at Carrigunura, Slieverua, Co Kilkenny on the New Ross to Waterford Road (N25). The female driver (61 years) in one car was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been the morgue at Waterford University Hospital . The male driver of the second car received minor injuries and has been taken to Waterford University Hospital for treatment.
The road is currently closed to traffic and local diversions are in place. The scene will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators tomorrow morning and the road is expected to remain closed until midday.
