Gardaí have arrested a man following a robbery at a petrol station at Rathass, Tralee, Co.Kerry last night.
On the 27th January 2016 at 8.20pm a man armed with a hatchet entered petrol station, threatened staff, stole cash and made off on foot across Rathass Graveyard. There were no injuries reported.
Gardaí responding to reports of the incident came upon a man fitting the description close to Fountain Court, Tralee. The man in his 40s, was arrested and is currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tralee Garda Station.
In a follow up search of the area money, a hatchet and clothing were recovered by Gardai.
