As part of on-going investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin Region conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force, a targeted search operation occurred in the Mountjoy Street area of Dublin 7 yesterday, Tuesday 6th December 2016. During this search operation Gardaí recovered a firearm and ammunition.
One man, aged 44 years, was arrested in connection with this investigation. He is currently detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.
