As part of an on going investigation into the sale and supply of controlled substances in Cork City, Gardaí from the Divisional Drug Unit, Cork City searched two houses in the Cork City area on the 15th December 2016.
During the course of a search of one house in Rochestown Gardaí discovered Cannabis herb with an approximate street value of €40,000 (subject to analysis). Two men (mid to late 30s) were arrested and were detained at Mayfield garda station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
During the search of another property in Carrigtwohill, Cork approximately €120,000 cash was also seized.
Both men have been charged with the seizures and will appear before a special sitting of Court tomorrow morning, Saturday 17th December, 2016.
