Gardaí have arrested three men and seized a quantity of heroin in an operation at a house in Dublin yesterday evening, the 19th December 2016.
As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin Region, conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Special Crime Task Force, an intelligence led search was carried out in the Ballyfermot area. During this operation Diamorphine (Heroin) with an estimated street value of €300,000 (subject to analysis) was seized.
Three men aged 34, 30 and 25 years were arrested at the scene. Two of the arrested men remain in custody at Ballyfermot and Clondlkin Garda Stations, where they are detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. The third man (25) has been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
