On the 9th December, 2016 , as part of an intelligence led joint operation between officers of the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau , approximately 12kgs of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €240,000 was seized at Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.
During the course of the operation, one man (aged 60 years) was arrested for Drug Trafficking Offences and detained at Swords Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The man has been charged with Drug Trafficking Offences and subsequently appeared before Dublin District Court where he was remanded in Custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday the 13th December, 2016 at 10.30am.
