Fatal traffic collision on the Slane Road, Drogheda, Louth on the 10/8/16

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at 10.20pm on the 10th August 2016 on the Slane Road, Drogheda, Co Louth the N51.

A pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was struck by an SUV, the driver remained at the scene. The injured man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
 
The road at the scene is closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
