Gardai in Finglas are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N2 Finglas on the 16th April 2016.
The collision occurred at approximately 3am inbound on the N2 dual carriageway when a car collided with a male pedestrian.
The pedestrian was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Gardaí have not established the identity the pedestrian at this stage. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown. The driver of the car(male aged 50 years) was uninjured in the collision.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. The road is expected to open shortly after 10am this morning the 16th April 2016.
