Gardai in Bantry, Co. Cork are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured on Wolfe Tone Square at midday today, Saturday 2nd April 2016.
A truck collided with a female pedestrian (early 70's) resulting in her death. The driver of the truck is uninjured. Her body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.
A technical and forensic examination of the scene is taking place by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road is currently closed with local diversions in place.
