Update - Suspicious fire investigation in Drogheda, Louth on the 12/15

Gardai investigating the circumstances of a fire at a factory in Drogheda have made a 4th arrest this morning.

A male in his mid teens was arrested in the Drogheda area and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Dundalk Garda Station.

 The three males who had been detained yesterday were released last night. There is now one male in custody.

Gardaí at Drogheda investigating a fire at a factory in the Donore Industrial Estate, Drogheda yesterday (12/9/15) have this evening arrested a male teenager in connection with this investigation.


He is currently detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested by Gardaí investigating a fire at a factory in Donore Industrial Estate, Drogheda.

He was arrested in the Drogheda area shortly before noon today (13/9/2015) and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Dundalk Garda Station.

Gardaí in Drogheda are investigating the circumstances of a fire at a factory in Drogheda, Co. Louth, on the 12th September 2015.

At approximately 9.30pm Gardaí and Fire Services attended the scene of a fire at a paper factory in Donore Industrial Estate, Droghdea, Co. Louth. A number of units from Louth and Meath Fire Services worked through the night to bring the fire under control.
 

A 14-year-old male was arrested by Gardaí a short distance from the scene in connection with the incident. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Droghdea Garda Station and has since been released without charge. 
 

Fire Services and Gardaí remain at the scene as the fire continues to smoulder. There are no reports of any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
