Gardai in Mullingar are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Dalystown, Co Westmeath on the 23rd September 2015.
The collision occurred at approximately 4.55pm on the Tyrellstown to Mullingar Road (N52) at Dalystown between a car and a lorry. The male driver (believed to be in his 20's), the sole occupant of the car was fatally injured in the collison and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body is currently at the scene. The male driver of the truck received minor injuries and was taken to Tullamore General Hospital for treatment.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
