Gardai in Bailieboro are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Carrickatober, Co Cavan in the early hours of this morning, Monday 28th September 2015.
Gardai were alerted to the collision at approximately 7.30 a.m. this morning, which occured on the road from Crosskeys to Ballyjamesduff Road, one kilometer on the Ballyjamesduff side of Crosskeys. The female driver (late 20's), the sole occupant of the car was fatally injured in the collison when her car left the road and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Navan.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
