Gardai have released without charge the male in his 30’s who was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tralee Garda Station in connection with the serious assault of a male in his 20’s at Kileen Woods, Tralee.
A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The other male who was arrested, in his 20’s, remains in custody under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Killarney Garda Station.
The injured male in his 20’s remains in a critical condition in Kerry General Hospital.

Two men have been arrested by Gardaí in Tralee following a suspected assault incident on Wednesday 30th September 2015.
At approximately 10.35pm Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident at Kileen Woods, Tralee. On arrival a male aged in his 20's was discovered unconscious in the front garden of a house. He was taken by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital where his condition is understood to be serious.
Two males, aged in their late 20's and early 30's, were arrested near the scene a short time later. They are both currently detained at Tralee Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice, 1984.
A forensic and technical examination of the scene is underway.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Kileen Woods at the time of the incident to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tralee Garda Station 066-7102300 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
