While Gardai from the Burglary Response Unit(BRU) were out on patrol in the Tallaght area they observed a van acting suspiciously. They stopped and searced the van, during the course of the search 9 kilos of cannabis herb(subject to analysis) with a street value of €180,000 was discovered.
The male was arrested and conveyed to Tallaght Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996 as amended.
During follow up searches the BRU assited by Tallaght and Blanchardstown Drug Units discovered 32 Kilos of cannabis herb(subject to analysis) with a street value of €640,000 in a premises in Blanchardstown.
