On the 13th October 2015, as part of an intelligence led operation targeting an organised crime group operating in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin, officers of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, stopped and searched a vehicle and seized a significant quantity of heroin.
Two men were arrested (aged 20 and 45 years). The street value of the controlled drugs seized in this investigation is estimated to be valued at €1 million euros.
The two arrested men who are from Dublin are currently detained, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Kevin Street and Irishtown Garda stations.
