Gardai in Claremorris are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the N17 at Claremorris (Main Galway – Sligo) Road on the 19th November 2015.
The collision between a car and a truck occurred at approximately 12 midday. The female driver(age unknown) sole occupant of the car was seriously injured and is currently been transferred to Galway University Hospital by Air ambulance. The truck driver was uninjured in the collision.
The road is currently closed in both directions pending a forensic collision examination of the scene and diversions are in place. It is expected that it will remain closed for a number of hours
