Gardaí at Finglas in Dublin are investigating an incident which occurred at New Campbell’s Bridge in Cabra at approximately 5.30am this morning (10/11/15).
Gardaí responded to a call that a car was on fire at this location. On arrival one Garda (male) was attacked by a man in his 30’s who assaulted him with what is believed to be a bottle. The Garda was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he received a number of stitches to his leg; he has since been discharged from hospital.
A man in his 30’s has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4- Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are continuing.
