As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin inner city area, Gardaí have seized heroin and cannabis along with arresting 2 males.
Gardai from the Kevin Street Drug Unit and the South Central Task Force conducted a planned search of a residence at Oliver Bond House early this morning. During the search heroin with an estimated street value of €90,000 (pending analysis) was seized.
A male in his late 20’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kevin Street Garda Station.
In a follow up search at a second residence in Oliver Bond House cannabis with an estimated street value of €5,000 (pending analysis) was seized and a 2nd male (in his 30’s) was arrested. He was detained at Kilmainham Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 but has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
