At approximately 00.10hrs a 25-year-old male was fatally injured when the tractor he was driving struck a ditch.
The incident occurred on the Glanworth to String Cross Road at Glanworth, Co. Cork. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The road is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place.
The body of the male remains at the scene which is preserved pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision investigators. The Coroner and the Health and Safety Authority have been notified. A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed in the case.
