Two men in custody following an attempted armed robbery at a post office at Killnamanagh, Dublin 24, on 16th June 2015 are due to apppear at Dublin District Court Number 1 at the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning at 10.30am.
At about 10.55am yesterday two men pulled up outside the post office at Kilnamanagh in a red Toyota Corolla. The two occupants of this car, one armed with what is believed to have been a hammer, entered the post office and demanded cash. No money was handed over and the men fled the scene in the red Toyota which was later burned out at Treepark Road.
The two man one his 30's and the other in his 40's went on foot towards Tymon North. At this point they were intercepted by Gardaí responding to the incident and arrested. Both were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tallaght Garda Station.
