A 22 year old man is due to appear at Dublin District Court Number 4, at the Criminal Courts of Justice, this morning 15th July at 10,30am, charged in relation to the seizure of a firearm in Ballymun on 13th July.
A second man in his 20's arrested in the same incident has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public prosecutions.
Gardaí stopped a car at 5pm on Monday 13th July 2015 on Carton Way, Ballymun, Dublin 11. Two men aged 25 and 22 were the sole occupants of this vehicle.
Gardaí searched the vehicle and found a 9mm handgun and ammunition, and a silver silencer.
Both men were arrested and taken to Coolock Garda Station; they were detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
