Gardaí attached to the Regional Traffic Unit, Dublin Castle, have arrested a man, 26 years, as part of an operation targeting the unauthorised taking of vehicles.
The man was arrested in Kilmacanogue, County Wicklow, on Friday 16th January 2015 shortly after 6pm. He was detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. A van, the subject of an unauthorised taking in Blackrock, County Dublin on Tuesday 6th January 2015 was recovered at the scene.
The man has since been released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
