Gardai in Carrick On Suir are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N24 at Townpark, Carrick On Suir this afternoon at approximately 2.40pm.
A male pedestrian in his 60’s was fatally injured when he was struck by an articulated truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The section of road was closed for a time in order to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
