Gardai in Edgeworthstown are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Legan Village at approximately 11.10pm last night.
A 27 year old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Mullingar Hospital. The other occupant, a 22 year old male, who was the front seat passenger, was taken to Tullamore Hospital with injuries described as not life threatening
The scene of the collision in Legan Village is currently closed to traffic in order to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
