Operation Thor -Attempted Robbery & Arrests - Update

The three males arrested yesterday afternoon, Thursday 3rd December, 2015 in a follow up operation after an attempted robbery took place at a post office in Dublin 8 have all been released without charge.

All three were released late last night Thursday 3rd December, 2015 and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Operation Thor - Attempted Robbery and Arrests Dublin 3rd December 2015
Three males have been arrested as part of Operation Thor following an attempted robbery at a post office in Dublin 8.

 
At approximately 12.30pm three masked men armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements entered the public area of a post office at Leonard’s Corner. They threatened customers and staff but failed in attempts to open a safe. The three men fled the scene on foot empty handed a short time later.
 

During a follow up operation involving Gardaí from Kevin St. along with Divisional Crime Task Force and Detective Units a flat was searched a short distance from the scene of the incident. Three males aged in their 20s were arrested. They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Kevin St. and Pearse St. Garda Stations.
