As part of Operation Thor, Gardaí have charged a man, 28 years, in connection with a number of burglaries which occurred in Birr, County Offaly on Monday morning, 30th November 2015 between 9 and 10am.
The man is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning, Tuesday 1st December 2015 at 10.30am.
Gardaí from Birr arrested the man near the scene of an aggravated burglary. They were assisted by Gardaí from Banagher, District Detectives and the Regional Response Unit. The man was detained at Birr Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
One man, mid 60’s, received minor injuries during the aggravated burglary.
