Gardai in Tuam are investigating a three vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R337 at Cordarragh, Headford at approximately 2pm today.
A 20 year old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving, and the sole occupant, was involved in a collision with two other vehicles, a jeep and a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Hospital.
The driver and three passengers of the second car were taken to University Hospital Galway with injuries described as not life threatening. The driver and passenger of the jeep were also taken to University Hospital Galway and the driver is described as being in a serious condition.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
