Gardaí in Mallow are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Kanturk, Co Cork on the 17th December 2015.
The collision occurred at Glen South, Naan, Kanturk at approximately 11.30am on the Kanturk/Banty to Cork Road between a car and a rigid truck. The female driver (78 yrs) was seriously injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place later. The female passenger (75 yrs) in the car was uninjured. The male driver of the rigid truck (33yrs) was also uninjured.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
