Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Gorteengrone, Co Carlow (R448) last night 25/12/15 at approximately 7.20pm.
A male pedestrian, 29 years, was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at scene. His body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination is to be arranged. The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was uninjured.
The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
