Gardaí in Leitrim are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Mohill on the 12th December 2015.
At approximately 10.45am a male pedestrian aged in his 80's was struck by a 4x4 vehicle at the junction of Glebe Street and Main Street, Mohill. He was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where he later passed away. The occupants of the 4x4 were not injured.
The scene of the incident is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions are in place. The local Coroner has been notified.
